Samsung Galaxy Tab S Brings 8.4″ and 10.5″ Super AMOLED Screens

SEOUL, South Korea – Samsung has launched its Galaxy Tab S in two different size variants of 10.5” and 8.4”, both hosting Super AMOLED screens.

The Super AMOLED screen for the tablets offers a 2560×1600 pixel resolution, is slimmer at just 6.6mm of thickness and lighter in weight. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S hosts two different chipsets for LTE and Wi-Fi variants. The LTE model packs a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset with Krait 400 CPU while the Wi-Fi variant packs Samsung’s own Exynos Octa chipset with a quad 1.9GHz Cortex A15 and a quad 1.3GHz Cortex A7 processor. Both the chipsets support 3GB of RAM.

The device comes with two storage options of 16GB and 32GB, and microSD card support for up to 128GB of expandable memory. The tablet works on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat topped up with Samsung’s Magazine UX offering, featuring Multi-Window, split-screen view, S Voice and much more.

The device has an 8MP camera at its back with LED flash and 1080p video recording, while its front has a 2.1MP camera. It has different sensors like IR Blaster, fingerprint scanner and comes with a plastic back having the faux leather look.

The larger of the two Samsung Galaxy Tab S has a battery capacity of 7900mAh and is priced for $499 while the smaller has a battery capacity of 4900mAh with a price of $399.
