The handset was announced last year with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean offering. The new software update has a build number I9200XXUDNE4 which is currently available in Russia via Samsung Kies. This could be a staged roll-out, so other countries will soon be on the list to receive the update.

In order to get the over-the-air update, users much check the About screen in the Settings menu. The other could option is connecting the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 to a computer and check the availability of the update through Kies.
