LONDON, UK – The EE Kestrel certainly missed its original release date by a week or so, but the 4G phone is now available for purchase.

The phone can now be ordered for £99 (with a £10 top-up) at the EE website. For those who may want to buy it at contract, the minimum cost should be £14, where the user will get the phone for free.

Kestrel, manufactured by Huawei, is the first phone for EE’s branding, and it makes more sense now that Orange, which has previously launched a number of devices, is part of the company.

EE asserts that Kestrel is the most inexpensive phone in the UK that supports 4G network.

For the price mentioned above, users will receive a 4.5-inch touchscreen display packing a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset along with 1GB RAM, 8GB of storage and microSD slot. It allows connectivity through Bluetooth and GPS. It is powered on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

With its position and features, the EE Kestrel will compete with the Moto G which does not support 4G.
