SEOUL, South Korea – The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, formerly rumoured to launch as the Galaxy S5 Zoom, has now officially been announced with a 20.7-megapixel camera that has 10x zoom and xenon flash.

The back cover of the phone with perforated leather-imitating design is similar to Samsung’s flagship device, Galaxy S5.

The device includes a hexa-core (6 cores) CPU that combines a quad-core 1.3 GHz unit with a dual-core 1.7 GHz chip. There is a 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, A-GPS with GLONASS, 2GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, and microSD for further storage expansion.

The handset has a lens that protrudes from the body, although when closed, it measures 16.6 mm, surprisingly thin, and weighs 200g, which is rather heavy, but understandable given the glass needed for the lens. The camera additionally has a Xenon flash, and comprises of BSI sensor measuring 1/2.3″.

The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom does not have a sales date announced as of yet.
