Larry Page, CEO of Google, said that the team at Motorola had done a good job in past 19 months after their acquisition of the company and the company has been quite successful by coming up with newer models in the smartphone market. The two most popular smartphones from the company, Moto G and Moto X, are “doing really well” according to the CEO.

Further explaining its stance in selling the company, Page claims that within this competitive business market of smartphones, Lenovo is emerging as a strong player and will certainly do the job satisfactorily with Motorola in its hands.

Keeping in mind the patent wars, Page underlined that Google will continue being the owner of Motorola Mobility’s patent portfolio, which was the probable reason for the acquisition of Motorola in the first place.

The deal is yet to be finalized as it requires regulatory approval in the US and in China.
