How to Jailbreak iOS 7-based iPhone and iPad

Share Button

The guide to jailbreak iOS 7, present on the iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and the latest iPad versions.

Note: These steps, courtesy of PhoneArena, can result in damage to the device, and could void the warranty.

Step 1

Back up the devices with iTunes/iCloud before beginning so that important data is secured. This ensures that if anything goes wrong, users can at least restore their handsets to the previous state.

Step 2

Ensure that your iOS version is actually crackable. Check it by going through Settings > General> About> Version. This current method works only on iPad, iPhone and iPod running on iOS 7 through 7.0.4.

Step 3

If you have updated your iPhone over-the-air (OTA) in the past, the development team recommends using iTunes to get back to iOS 7.0.4 to avoid any complications.

Step 4

Disable your passcode (if any) by going to Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode > Turn Passcode off.

Step 5

Download evasiOn 7 for Mac (10.6 minimum) or Windows (XP minimum). After installation, extract the executable file from the archive and power it on. Once again, note that you have not forgotten to back-up your device via iTunes plug it to your computer. If this is right, the program will detect your device and list it as supported. Click on “Jailbreak” and do not at all interrupt the process unless prompted. At nearly 60% of the progress bar, you will be asked to unlock your iOS 7 device and click the “evasiOn 7” icon. The process continues further and once again you will be asked to unlock your device.

Step 6

Once this is done, move to the second homescreen and launch the Cydia’ app. Leave your device untouched while it prepares its file systems. The process is now complete.

Step 7

Conduct the upgrade for the Cydia app. The UI is not up-to-date, but upgrades are expected soon.

If the device becomes unresponsive, you can still restore it via DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode. To get your queries solved on any other issues you can contact evad3rs support page.
