GLOBAL – The popular security testing suite and Wi-Fi password-cracking tool BackTrack rebuild Kali Linux has been ported to the Galaxy Note 10.1.

Kali Linux offers the enterprise tools for rigorous security assessments and substantial improvements over the popular BlackTrack 5, a Linux-based penetration testing toolset.

Offensive Security’s Mati Aharoni, author these penetration testing platforms, say that while Lali looks just like the previous version of BlackTrac, it adds “amazing new features”. The Kali distribution comes in not only 32- and 64-bit flavors, but also works with ARM-based systems.

Offensive Security says it ported Kali to ARM hardware, including the Samsung Chromebook and the Raspberry Pi. Just recently, it managed to get Kali Linux installed on a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. Despite the Note 10.1’s touch-screen interface, Kali’s general usability allowed it to run on the tablet without any major hitch.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 owners will need at least 7 GB of storage on their internal SD cards for the Kali image, and can follow this guide for installation.
