Apple Introduces iPad Mini and iPad 4

iPad 4SAN JOSE, California – Apple managed to surprise consumers with the introduction not only of the rumored iPad Mini, but also a forth generation of its already popular iPad.

While the Mini version of the iPad was somewhat expected and discussed, the introduction of the next-generation iPad 4 was a surprise for everybody, as the introduction of the New iPad was only months ago. The forth generation iPad features 9.7-inch Retina display and a new A6X chip that is supposed to deliver up to twice the CPU performance and graphics performance of the A5X chip, while staying in the 10 hours of battery life mark. Other new features include a FaceTime HD camera, increased Wi-Fi performance and support for additional LTE carriers worldwide.

The completely new iPad Mini comes in aluminum and glass design that is just 7.2 mm thin and weighs only 0.68 pounds. The 7.9-inch Multi-Touch display combined with the dual-core A5 chip and the latest iOS software promises a good combination of performance and size. The iPad Mini features front-facing FaceTime HD camera and a 5 megapixel iSight camera on the back with full 1080p HD video recording.

Both new iPads are equipped with the new the Lightning connector of the company that was introduced with the latest iPhone 5. The price range of the iPad Mini is between $329 and $659, while the iPad 4 is sold between $499 and $829 depending on specification.

The pre-ordering of iPad Mini and the fourth generation iPad begins on Friday, October 26th through the Apple Online Store in the US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK; while shipping starts on Friday, November 2nd.
