MWC: Intel Helps to Develop Lava Xolo X900, Orange Phone

Lava Xolo X900 IntelBARCELONA, Spain – Intel at the Mobile World Congress confirmed its ongoing plans to expand its current product portfolio in the smartphone marketplace, starting with the Lava Xolo X900.

In order to fulfil these latest plans Intel has confirmed that it has made a number of strategic engagements with companies like Visa, Orange, ZTE and Lava International Ltd.

Following its recent engagement with Lava International Ltd, one of India’s most rapidly expanding handset makers, Intel has announced that Lava will become the first company to provide Intel-based smartphones to the Indian market. The new XOLO brand of smartphone will come with the Intel Atom Z2460 processor inside and will also include support for the HSPA+ using the Intel XMM 6260 Platform among its many features.

As well as building on its existing customer base Intel also advised that the Intel Atom processor range is another key area that it will be focusing on, with improvements being made to existing chips like the Intel Atom Processor Z2460, which has had its speed increased to 2GHz, and the addition of new Atom chips like the Atom Z2580 that Intel has said doubles the performance of the Z2460.
