iPad iPhone iPod iOSCUPERTINO, USA – The results of several financial periods saw Apple at record highs. The quarter that passes by now is the most successful one in Apple’s history with both record sales and earnings.

The overall earnings increase reached 117% compared with last year’s corresponding quarter and reaches impressive $13.06 billion generated from sales of $46.33 billion. The biggest sales increase is in iPhones with 37.04 million units sold, followed by 15.43 million iPads and 5.2 million Macs, while iPod sales saw some decrease.

At the other end of the production line Apple also is at the top, becoming the largest buyer of semiconductors in the world. By Gartner’s research for 2011, Apple made a 34.6% jump in its semiconductors purchases, which made it the largest buyer in the world with $17.3 billion spent. This is a remarkable result compared with the third place that the company had in 2010.

With such impressive results it’s no wonder that respect to the late Apple’s co-founder Steve Jobs increases with Virgin America airlines paying tribute with jet in his famous quote “stay hungry, stay foolish”.
