Verizon Samsung IllusionBASKING RIDGE – Samsung itself has played spoilsport and confirmed its Samsung Illusion handset much before date. The preview of the device hitting Verizon was posted on Flickr.

Though Samsung was shy in giving out full-blown details about the device, the model number SCH-I110 is confirmed and we also hear it will be topping out on 3G data. On the UI front, the phone will be adopting the Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and scaled down with much better integration with Android 2.3 and also to work better on smaller screens.

On the hardware front, the device is expected to house a 800MHz or 1GHz processor under-the-hood, a 3 or 5-megapixel camera and a screen resolution of 320×480.

September 29th is the date when the Verizon will be offering the Samsung Illusion, and it is expected to ear a price-tag of $100 with a two-year contract. The handset is specially targeted at users looking at a feature rich Android smartphone minus the beastly power of the high-end devices.
