Sprint Kyocera Echo dual touchscreenOVERLAND PARK, USASprint Premier customers can now purchase the Kyocera Echo from the store ahead of the launch date.

The Echo is one of the most unique handsets currently available in the market. It comes with a folding dual-touchscreen design which allows users to have applications stretch across two screens at the same time. This enables users to multitask more effectively and is a significant productivity booster. Not all apps work like this though and Kyocera has developed a bridge application which works to make the app scale effectively across two screens.

For early adopters, Sprint is offering a complete waiver of the upgrade fee and will even ship across the device for free. This makes the phone an exceptionally good deal if customers wish to try out something new and interesting.

Major global manufacturers don’t have a planned response to it, with companies such as BlackBerry relying on the conventional form factors – read the BlackBerry Torch review by Dial-a-phone.

The smartphone is powered by Google Android 2.2, and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor does the heavy lifting. Due to the dual touchscreens, battery life is definitely affected and Sprint has thoughtfully included an additional battery with the phone.
