HTC TouchPad release dateSUNNYVALE, USA – The HP TouchPad is rumored to be launching in June. This tablet is powered by the HP exclusive WebOS.

HP recently announced their entry into the ever growing tablet market. The TouchPad is slated to be a table with 10 inch screen and an OS that is exclusive to HP devices. It will be powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The tablet will include all the features you would expect to find in a high end tablet including Bluetooth, front facing camera and Flash support.

The TouchPad will face a lot of competition via the iPad 2 and Android powered tablets, such as the Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Flash support will be a big selling point over the IPad but since it is running WebOS, it may lack a large variety of apps especially compared to the iPad.

There’s no official launch date but HP has been saying Summer since they announced the device, which would fall in line with this June rumor. The price point for the TouchPad is believed to be $499 for 16 GB and $599 for 32 GB for Wi-Fi only versions. No word on pricing or release of cellular enabled versions. A possible 7 inch version of the tablet is expected to launch a few months later, possibly in September.
