Nokia C5ESPOO, Finland – Nokia makes yet another launch in the touchscreen game market, with the announcement of the C5.

The handset is quite striking thing at the first glance, and has the typical Nseries look to it. It will be an inexpensive device for the price-conscious consumer, who prefer a device to do multiple things, without being over-the-top. Like many of the existing Nokia models starting from the Nokia 5800 to the recent Nokia X6, the C5 will also support the contacts bar, allowing the user to call, message and subscribe to RSS feeds  at just a touch in the home screen.

The Nokia C5 has a 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and the Ovi Maps navigation app with support for public transport and location sharing via social networking.

Housed in the C5 is a 5 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, with the absence of a flash. The handset is compact with measurements of 105.8 x 51.0 x 13.8mm and weighs only 93g. The phone is smaller compared to the Nokia N8.

The C5 has 40MB of on-board storage and supports expandable memory of up to 16GB via a microSD slot. The OS will be the same as the most Nokia touchscreen phones, Symbian OS9.4 with S60 5th edition.

With Nokia Messaging, the handset supports instant email setup, with the option of setting up an existing mail account or POP3 provider. There is something in store for business users even, with the inclusion of Mail for Exchange. Ovi Store and the Nokia Music Store are two of the other services bundled in the handset.
