TAOYUAN, Taiwan – The HTC Obsession seems to be near AT&T and T-Mobile USA carriers. Apparently, the 3.7″ AMOLED equipped-device will be named HTC Diamond3 and it is expected to be announced later this year.

According to the source, HTC is willing to start shipping the device in early June 2010, although some delay could come up in the meantime. Windows Mobile 7 could potentially be the default operating system, although the smartphone will most probably first carry 6.5, and be upgradable to the latest version.

As its predecessor resulted in poor sales, the HTC Diamond3 will not be coming in a CDMA version.

The new HTC Diamond 3 is understood to have a Qualcomm ASD8250 1GHz processor, support for GSM and HSPDA networks, memory around 512MB for both RAM to ROM, and internal storage of 4GB, capable of up to 32GB with memory card expansion. As mentioned previously, the display will be a 3.7″ capacitive AMOLED touchscreen, supporting multitouch, and the device is said to measure 112x56x11.7mm.

The device incorporates a  5 megapixel camera with flash and supports HD video recording at 720p resolution, at 25fps.
