BERKSHIRE, UK – LG has made a late entry into the Google Android smartphone segment, with its social networking-focused LG GW620 inTouch Max.

A 3″ touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera and a QWERTY keyboard, among other features, seem to be very handy for its strong point, social networking. “The phone is ideal for people who want to stay connected and up-to-date with their friends, relatives and online lives 24/7” reads the device’s specification page. Coming along with a Social Networking Manager application called Linkbook, the GW620 helps one to be close to friends social networking profiles through the contacts menu.

Even further, it comes with a auto face-tagging function, meaning that it automatically recognizes contacts’ faces on a tagged photo. Working as a complement of it, Face-to-Action gives the possibility to call, send an SMS or MMS, or join a contact’s social networking profile with the simple movement of touching their face in the picture.

There are two network providers that offer the device: T-Mobile offers it for free for a £20 monthly payment on 24-month contract with unlimited data; while Virgin Mobile offers it for free as well for a £22 monthly payment on an 18-month contract with unlimited texts and data as well.
