The hand-held digital microscope manufacturer released the ProScope Micro Mobile earlier this month, and has already started shipping the product. It is released in three variants, where one is compatible with iPad, another one with iPad Mini and third one with iPhone 4, 4s, 5 and iPod Touch.

Regardless of the size, all versions cost the same, that is $149. The price also includes a desk-stand for tablet and phone so that it can be operated hands-free.

The microscope, mounting to the device through nylon/ABS sleeves, fixes the lens over camera’s lens. The lens is able to magnify about 20 to 80 times, and is equipped with dozen of adjustable-brightness LEDs that highlight the preferred object. The battery of the microscope provides about 5 hours of operation from 2 hours of charge via USB.

The XperiaBlog shared a few pictures of the new Sony Xperia S39h. The handset might be a bigger sibling of the Sony Xperia L (C210X, S36h). The images show a smartphone in complete white with large screen, big bezel, a dedicated camera button and the signature power button.

Readers may remember that Sony is using two model schemes, one with CXXX for all handsets to be released in 2013, and other with S/M/L (for small/medium/large) with the old configuration for China only. As of now, nothing much is known about the phone, not even if it is a prototype or whether it is already in production. However, with expanding Xperia smartphones portfolio in 2013, we may hear about it soon.

There is no official announcement from the manufacturer but the images of these variants have been surfacing online for a while.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is considered to be a camera-specific model. Rumours indicate that this model will feature a 16 MP primary camera. Like the name indicates, this handset is capable of optical zoom up to 10 times. This is also expected to be a lot better than that of the Nokia 808 PureView.

Images of a miniature version of the Galaxy S4 have also been doing rounds online. Similar to the Galaxy S3 Mini, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will also have a smaller screen size. The features are also expected to be shortened and it may be priced in the higher mid-range category.

As a part of the deal, the Indian Government received about 100 000 tablets which would be distributed to students at a subsidized price. Datawind developed the first Aakash tablet for India’s Ministry of Human Resources Development and it was distributed to students in order to promote ubiquitous internet usage.

As a part of the tender, DataWind supplied 98,000 Aakash 2 tablets and 2000 tablets with recommendations for Aakash 3. The Aakash 3 tablet is the first among the series to feature a built-in quad-band EDGE modem. A consumer version of this tablet is also launched into the market.

The Aakash 3 tablet will feature a 7-inch display screen with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. Other features in this tablet include Android 4.0 (ICS) OS, 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory, and a secondary camera. This device is also expected to feature a SIM slot for voice calling support.

In addition to completing the government bid, DataWind also mentioned that it has completed almost all the pre-paid backlog orders. The brand also promises that new orders will be processed within 72 hours.

New images of the Google/Motorola X Phone have surfaced online raising speculations that this model might be officially announced soon. Motorola hasn’t launched any major models since it got acquired by Google. The X Phone is expected to be Motorola’s next big venture into the smartphone world.

The latest images of the Google X Phone show the handset in a protective case along with the traditional Motorola logo. From the images, we can say that this model has a sleek design and a stylish look.

Sources claim that the Google X Phone will feature a 4.7-inch display screen, and run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Other rumoured specifications of this model include 32 GB internal storage and 2 GB RAM. This handset is expected to be launched with its protective case.

There is no official information regarding the release date of the X Phone. However, it is expected to be launched by the end of this month. More information regarding the X Phone was expected to be revealed at  the Google I/O keynote, but the device doesn’t seem to be ready.

This smartphone is also touted to support underwater photography at up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) deep water. Moreover, it can last underwater for up to 30 minutes.

The manufacturer has mentioned that the Sony Xperia ZR will hit market shelves in the second quarter of 2013.

However, it is not the ‘Key Lime Pie’ version as everyone expected. The Android 4.3 version is still Jelly Bean and it is being tested on a certain devices before the official launch.

The new version of Android was spotted the server logs of popular smartphone blogging sites Android Authority and Android Police. This confirmed that the next Android version that is being tested is 4.3 and not 5.0. The build number of the new Android version is indicated by JWR23B, JWR25C and JWR24B etc.

Here, the first letter of the build number indicates the version of Android. This confirms that the Android 4.3 version is indeed Jelly Bean. Although nothing has been officially confirmed by Google, it is expected that the next Android version – 4.3 Jelly Bean is gearing up for launch soon.

Nokia has mentioned that the Lumia 925 will hit market shelves in June. The device is expected to reach markets first in Europe, the US and China. This will subsequently be followed by a launch in other countries, with a price of EUR 469 before taxes.

The device, which can emit electromagnetic waves at a terahertz frequency, is formed by two layers of graphene divided by an insulating layer of boron nitride. With the ultra-thin insulator, electrons are able to move by quantum tunneling, and the rapid motion leads to emission of high-frequency electronic waves.

These new transistors show the signature of a quantum seesaw, called “negative differential conductance”, whereby the same electrical current flows at two different applied voltages.

Graphene is a two-dimensional material consisting of a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb or chicken wire structure. Originally thought to be unstable in its free state, Graphene was first isolated by researchers at The University of Manchester in 2004. Graphene is the thinnest material known and yet is also one of the strongest, thus a potential to revolutionize electronic devices.

One of the researchers, Laurence Eaves said graphene-based transistors could revolutionize technologies for medical imaging and security screening and could replace silicon-based technology in computing devices.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

According to rumors, with the Nexus 11, Samsung is aiming to release the world’s first octa-core tablet. The successor to the Samsung-manufactured Google Nexus 10 would feature an Exynos 5410 processor and a TFT LCD display (rather than Samsung’s AMOLED technology). The device though still needs approval from Google.

Other tablets coming up include the Galaxy Tab DUOS, a low-end tablet that should compete with the top selling 7-inch tablets Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire. The Tab DUOS doesn’t offer much on the specs sheet with a measly 1024×600 pixel display and older dual-core CPU.

Samsung’s offering in the higher-end niche include the Tab 8.0 and the Tab 11. The Tab 8.0 will sport a 1080p AMOLED display and a quad-core Cortex A9 based Exynos 4412 processor. The 11-inch Tab packs a TFT LCD display and a newer dual-core A15 Exynos 5250 chip.

Reports say that Samsung has deferred or might even scrap the next generation of Galaxy Note 10.1 due to weak sales of the current model.
