12 Megapixel Sony Ericsson Could Be a Xperia X2
BARCELONA, Spain – A Sony Ericsson spokesperson has told PhoneReport that the smartphone codenamed Idou, which features a 12 megapixel camera, might not belong to the Cyber-shot series.
The spokesperson said that as the Idou represents everything in a phone, it might actually take another branding. This can be true as the phone does not actually display any Cyber-shot branding on its camera, and even if it does, it does not mean that it will be one.
It is clear that Sony Ericsson needs a flagship device capable of competing against Samsung’s Omnia HD, and Nokia’s N97. The Idou might hence turn out to be the Xperia X2. This phone could compete in the same exact category as those rivals stated above, because it also runs on the Symbian operating system.
The Sony Ericsson Idou features a 12.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and Xenon flash, a 3.5″ widescreen touchscreen display, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and HSDPA.
